GREG HORN
DISTRICT 5020 GOVERNOR 2020-2021
Three things have shaped Greg’s life more than any other. Water, family and Rotary. Raised living on a lake in Lakewood, WA, he became an accomplished competitive water skier and barefooter. This led him into the water ski manufacturing business during college at the University of Washington. After college and a stint in the navy, the job grew into a self-employment opportunity as an independent manufacturer’s representative. That led him into the tournament ski boat business, a wakeboard manufacturing business and finally a dock building business. He also raced tunnel boats for several years way back in the 70’s where he set a world speed record that still stands. Along the way he joined with some friends and built a water ski lake, one of the finest in the country. Greg is also a lifelong snow skier, and snow is just frozen water.
Greg met his future wife, Mary, at a boat race. Mary and & Greg have three adult sons, and now three adorable grandkids.
One day a friend called and asked, “What do you know about Rotary?” Greg replied, “Not much. It is a service club that meets for lunch in just about every community I have traveled through. After attending a few meetings, he was hooked. He had found the perfect way to give back to his community and have fun while doing it.
After joining Lakewood Rotary in 1996 he became active in just about every aspect of the club. 2009-2010 brought a year of being club president, and then three years as assistant governor followed. “The more I learned about Rotary beyond the club, the more I wanted to be involved,”
Mary jokes that Greg asked her to marry him, but neglected to ask her to join Rotary. She recently took the lead and joined Lakewood Rotary where she has had a dynamic first year. Greg and Mary are co-chairs of 2018 Rotary District 5020 Conference and Training in Tacoma.
Greg’s four Rotary passions are polio eradication, public image, membership growth, and The Rotary Foundation.
A final thought: Do you wish Rotary were not such a well-kept secret? Do you wish everyone in the community knew about all the life-changing things we do?
Together we can grow Rotary and make a difference!

We are incredibly honored to have the following leaders. Please click the tabs above to learn more about our future leaders.
Lorna Curtis – District Governor 2021/22
Lorna has been a Rotarian since 1997. She has been a club president, secretary, membership chair and the event chair for many fundraisers. She has been district, secretary, youth policy coordinator, Rotary Foundation Fundraiser and an AG. She brought 10 Rotary Clubs together in Victoria to raise a half a million dollars to support the Food Rescue Project (getting perishable food items from grocery stores gleaned and cleaned, then distributed to vulnerable populations in the community).
Lorna’s education background is in Public Administration. She spent 37 years working in municipal government, 31 of these years was in Parks and Recreation finishing her career as the Director of Oak Bay Parks and Recreation Department in Victoria, British Columbia.
Lorna was a single mom, solely raising her sons from the age of 7 and 10. She is most proud of the men her sons have become, one is a Professor at Stanford University and the other is an Electrician. Lorna loves to spend time with her two granddaughters 6 and 9 years of age who live in San Francisco.
Since retirement she has travelled extensively around the world embracing many adventures throughout her travels. She enjoys old movies, loves to cook, garden and entertain.
T. Dale Roberts – District Governor 2022-2023
Dale Roberts is probably best known as the husband of Past District Governor Maureen (Mo) Fritz-Roberts.
Many people are surprised to learn that Dale was actually a Rotarian before Mo joined Rotary. Dale was invited to join the Rotary Club of Fairview, Alberta in January 1977. He later joined the Rotary Club of Comox in 1992 and is a charter member of the Rotary Club of Comox Valley.
Dale and Mo have been partners in business and service for almost as long as they have been married.
Mo is currently the manager of their office, which specializes in estate planning and real estate transfers. They previously worked together in insurance, income tax and newspapers. When Dale was president of the Comox Rotary Club, Mo was president of another service club at the same time, and the two clubs partnered on a park project.
It is partnerships that make Rotary effective in Dale’s opinion. Rotarians partner with their communities to make them better places to lie. Rotarians partner with other Rotarians to deliver essential services throughout the world. Rotarians have partnered with NGOs to eradicate disease, create peace and provide clean water.
Terry (Dale) Roberts acquired the nickname “Batman” during his year as chief of staff to District Governor Mo. Dale is sometimes also known as TD. That’s a lot of names. Dale doesn’t really care what you call him. He does care about Rotary and especially the Rotary Foundation.
Dale and Mo are major donors to the Rotary Foundation, members of the Paul Harris Society, members of the Polio Plus Society and they have decided to provide for the Rotary Foundation in their will to the same extent as one of their children. Dale and Mo live in the Comox Valley in close proximity to all five of their grandchildren.
