Lauren Pugliese, President
Lauren lives in Chicago and works for The Rotary Foundation as part of the Donor Relations team. She is a graduate of The College of Wooster where she majored in Sociology and minored in Urban Studies and Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys exploring Chicago’s restaurant scene, volunteering with iMentor, and running along the lakefront.
Since joining the Rotaract Club in 2018, Lauren has enjoyed meeting community leaders and doing hands-on work in neighborhoods across the city. As the 2020-21 president, Lauren is dedicated to helping current members get the most value out of their Rotaract membership.
Wynante Charles, Vice President
Wynante is originally from the Commonwealth of Dominica, where she was a member of the Rotaract Club of Roseau. After obtaining her associate degree, she moved to Chicago where she is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Health Science and English at DePaul University. She currently works as a Peer Health Educator in the university’s Office of Health Promotion and Wellness. In her spare time she enjoys travelling, trying new hobbies, and exploring new places in the Chicagoland area. Wynante joined Rotaract because she is passionate about giving back to and creating change in her community.
Sophia Bischof, Secretary
Sophia is a German native, who has lived in 6 countries and has been calling Chicago home for the past four years. She currently works in Marketing for the world’s largest chocolate & cocoa manufacturer, Barry Callebaut. She is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, USA and The University of Manchester, UK.
As a Rotaractor, Sophia enjoys being around like-minded young professionals, who have a keen interest in service and are motivated to make an impact on the local community. In her free time, she likes to be active and can often be found hiking in beautiful landscapes around the world.
Chris Perrins, Treasurer & International Service Directory
Chris currently works on the legal team of Legal & General Investment Management America, Inc., one of the three asset managers in the city of Chicago.
Chris graduated Magna Cum Laude from the College of Wooster in 2018 with a B.A. in History and a focus on the pre-law track.
Outside of work, Chris is an avid baker, and will be competing as a bagpiper with the City of Chicago Pipe Band during their 2020 competition season.
Donner, Immediate Past President
Donner is the current Rotaract District Chair and Rotaract District Representative and past Rotaract Club of Chicago President. He is glad to be involved with service focused young professionals who are intent on having a lasting and visible impact on Chicago communities. Donner grew up in Reno, Nevada and currently works as an Associate at Global Economics Group. He loves converting data into digestible concepts and statistics. In his free time he enjoys playing water polo for Chicago’s club the Apostles.
Caleb Carlson, Director of Service
Caleb is currently a Business Analysis Associate with Mathematica Policy Research where he helps provide technology solutions to data collection projects aimed at answering questions in the health and human services spheres. He received his bachelor’s in business from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and is an Army veteran. This being his first Rotary year, Caleb is excited to bring the capabilities and enthusiasm of Rotaract’s members to bear on issues faced by our local communities.
Karly Carson – Director of Public Relations
Karly is the Communications Coordinator for Region Americas at Barry Callebaut. Originally from Michigan, she moved to South Loop a little more than a year ago and has loved the big city life. She’s kind of a foodie, so all of the different restaurants in the city have been amazing! Rotaract has been a huge part of her life since she was in high school in Interact, and she continued with Rotaract at UofM where she met most of her college best friends. Hopefully her Chicago best friends will be from Rotaract too!
Avery Epstein – Social Director
Avery currently works at the Boy Scouts of America where her role is to bring sustainable youth programs to at-risk youth in hard-to-serve areas in Chicago. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in International Affairs and an emphasis on Community and Comparative Politics. Avery is the initiator and champion of our Rotaract of Chicago book club and has a nose for picking relevant and intriguing reads.
Dennis Evashenk, Membership Director
Dennis currently works in procurement at Mars and graduated from DePaul University in Chicago.
He has a longstanding involvement with Rotaract and has been able to make friends all over the world. He values the exchange and opportunities Rotaract provides. He is fluent in 3 languages: English, Spanish and Portugese.
